To gain didactic and hands-on familiarity with radiation therapy measurement equipment (ion chambers, films, TLDs, water tanks, profilers, etc) and learn basic measurement acquisition necessary for clinical practice. Students learn the use of statistics in radiation measurement, the generation of radiation, interactions of radiation with matter, nuclear reactions and the methods and instruments used for detection of radiation through attendance of didactic lectures, reviews of homework assignments, presentations of class projects and preparation for examinations.
