Medical Physicists from Previous UTHSCSA Graduate Programs
From Radiological Sciences
The current graduate program was approved by the Graduate School of Biomedical Sciences (GSBS), Regents of the University of Texas, and the Coordinating Board for Higher Education of the State of Texas in 1989. This program has revived a tradition begun by an older Medical Physics component offered through the Departments of Biomedical Engineering and Biophysics. The original program was directed by Robert G. Waggener PhD and produced 9 medical physics graduates at the PhD or MS level before it was terminated when the GSBS was reorganized in 1978.
